Ms. Rachel is sharing insight into a difficult time.
The YouTuber, who is mom to son Thomas, 6, with husband Aron Accurso, shared that prior to welcoming her only child, she suffered a miscarriage.
Of course, the 41-year-old, whose full name is Rachel Griffin-Accurso, opened up about the situation in her own special way, singing a song on Instagram about her “rainbow baby”—a term used to describe children who are born after a pregnancy loss or a child loss.
“Rainbow baby, dream come true / Rainbow baby if you knew,” Ms. Rachel sings at the piano. “Every prayer we said for you / Rainbow baby dream come true.”
In the caption, the former preschool teacher reached out to her followers, especially ones who might have gone through a similar situation.
“My rainbow baby is not a baby anymore but he’ll always be my rainbow baby,” she wrote. “So much love to anyone who understands.”
In her Instagram Story, Ms. Rachel reposted the video, writing, “I’m sorry for your loss if you understand this song. Love you.”
And while Ms. Rachel’s online videos garnered young fans all over the world, it was her son Thomas who inspired her to begin her series as she wasn’t able to find a show that would help him work through a speech delay.
“As a parent, you want to do anything you can to help them,” she shared on the Today show in December 2022. “A lot of things I teach are things I wish I had known for my son.”
She said at the time her son was struggling around age 2, she was desperate for resources to help.
“I kept searching for this show for him, and we couldn’t find it,” she noted. “So I was like, ‘Maybe we could try to create it and maybe it would help more kids.’ But we didn’t imagine anything like this.”
